Abstract
Congenital absence of the vagina is a rare malformation which results from the defect of or arrest in the normal downward growth of the fused paramesonephric ducts toward the urogenital sinus. Congenital absence of the vagina most often occurs in
conjunction with uterine, renal and skeletal abnormalities.
Little is known about the etiology of vaginal agenesis.
Various treatments have been described for vaginal agenesis but ideal method is still not found.
One patient with developmental abnormalites of the vagina was treated by the application of human amnion over a mold after surgical dissection of a space of the new vagina. Excellent result was achieved.
